A little bit of lately

I need a new camera STAT. My oldschool blackberry is the worst and takes the gnarliest pics ever & my digital is just old and takes crap quality pics as well. The only decent camera we have is Jake's iphone, but the problem with that is that He always has it. THIS JUST WON'T DO! Especially because I have a gorg Husband and the cutest babe ever... the deserve a paparazzi right? I need to take more pictchas. Jake and I may be investing in a fancy camera soon. (He just doesn't know yet) ;)

Now, because I'm the worst blogger ever, here is an update on little man. Can I just say before this though, I am in shock, more like in AWE, of all the moms out there that can blog daily. The ones who have multiple kids, a clean house, have bathed themselves and fed their husbands? How do they do this? I have one and feel busy most of the time. I'm in big trouble when I have 2.

Anyway Brody boy is just a big boy now. I feel like it has pretty much happened over night. More and more often I look at him and think, Okay when did you grow 2 feet? Seriously, so crazy.
Brody will be Ten months on Saturday. TEN MONTHS Ahh!
He has 2 teeth FINALLY and more well on their way
Stands by himself from any position
I dug a quarter out of his mouth today
walks along furniture
says Dada, Momma is still iffy
He's into absolutely everything
Still bounces all the time
Sings with me
He has a happy squeal that's so loud it'll make you drop (seriously)
can climb all of grandmas stairs by himself
Loves to run with his Dad
loves LOVES strawberries & Teddy Grams & Mac n' Cheese
needs a haircut BAD :(
Absolutely hates the mall with Mom.
Loves the price is right
& he pooped 6 times today (this is not normal, but has got to be a record of some kind, right?)

And because I'm tired............ here are some pics of lately, all out of order.

I ♥ DIY

Here's our Entryway before... a big, 13 ft. wall with not a lot goin on.

A whole lot of nothing

Jake with his new found love... the air compressed nail gun. A beautiful invention.

Yours truly, overseeing a job well done :)

Finished with back panel and battens, ready for paint.

Our Beloved nail gun was giving us some fits.

Before painting, I sealed in our love. (awww)

Added top ledge and wall hooks

Next we constructed our 6 ft. Cubby Bench

sanded and stained

I padded and upholstered the top.

Placed a cute baby on top to test. (just kidding, we tested it too)

And Finally we put it to use!

I plan to fill the cubbys with baskets and put Family pictures above the Board and Batten. We love how it turned out and now have no excuse to throw our coats and other crap on the floor! YAY!

Progress Report: 8 months!

Time has FLOWN! Brody is such a boy. And that's the best way to describe him! He grunts, and is extremely curious. He spits and has stinky sweaty feet ALL the time. He really is just plain silly. I know at 2 years I am going to have my hands full because he'll be into everything. He just picked up crawling this week, and it's been a long time coming. His motivation... what else, an electrical socket. Awesome. And today he found something, (no clue what it was or where it came from) It was black, and I had to dig it out of his mouth. YAY! ITS BEGINNING!
Now let me tell you about church.. my goodness, there is no being quiet for this little man. If he's not squealing because he's happy, then he's squealing because he's mad... but he's squealing most of the time. More like Shrieking. Jake thinks it's funny, I think it's funny most of the time. Ha.
No Teeth yet. Just lots of chewing and drooling and a few rough nights sleeping.
He sure loves his Mom and Dad. He cries when we aren't in his line of vision, and now follows us when we leave the room. Pretty cute.
And his giggle, oh the sweet little giggle. Jake and I make fools of ourselves to hear it.
His hair is always a topic of conversation. Some people, (a lot of people) tell me I need to cut it. Apparently they don't dig his curly Jew Curls. To all you people who feel this way, I'm sorry I'm not sorry to tell you this but it ain't happeninI I love those curly locks, and Jake and I like longer hair on little boys. His hair is so him. Crazy, messy and so cute... it truly fits his personality.

Remember this Guy? I was in love with him for a long time.

He's a doll and I've always loved his hair... I want Brody to have long hair... that's the end of it.

Even though he's only 8 months, the conversation of when we want our next one has come up in a conversation or 2. My goodness.... Jake and I are so extremely content with just Brody right now, that our next baby isn't even on the tip of our tongues. He keeps me busy, but I'm' not overwhelmed and that's nice. I just want Brody to be able to be a baby for a long time. I want to continue working out and get into good shape. I want to be able to do some of the things I love for a while, that I can't do while I'm Pregnant. We plan on spacing our kids out a bit. My older brother is 5 years older than me and I've never thought anything of it. I won't wait that long, but it will be a couple years. I just turned 22... I've got plenty of time to have babies. So I will take that time.

Here's our Brody over the last few weeks or so... I love this little boy so stinkin much it hurts!

Can You believe how blonde this baby is? He was born with dark, almost black, hair.

Brody's All ready for his first McCall Winter Carnival

He was just loving the parade

Jake's going to kill me. But I've always been curious, so I did it. And now yes, I'm sure he's scarred for life. Ha.. But I can only pray that I have a baby girl with such Bow-worthy hair :)

A Belated Christmas Post

This is actually before the date night Jake had planned for my Birthday. What a Sweetheart.

Brody and his cousin Alexa

Getting my Birthday snugs in from my boy

Nap time hair.

This boy loves Christmas.

iphone4S... spoiled boy

I think it's taken me so long to write this post because even thinking about it makes me tired. Christmas was busy this year. Not relaxing at all but that's okay. There was a lot of family in town and a million things going on between both of our families, and Jake, Brody and I got so spoiled this year... we must have been good because Santa showed us Love.

Christmases in the past have been spent waking up early to open gifts, then laying around napping and watching new movies for the rest of the day. And eating, eating, and EATING some more. This year we had a schedule.
We are so grateful though, that those that we love live so close to us, and that we are able to participate in everything on both sides of the family. It's busy, but worth it. I hope next year though, that we are able to spend a little more time just us, at home. I would like to start some of our own traditions. We weren't even able to take a picture in front of our Christmas tree. We took a self timer one just before we took it down.
Once it was all said and done, we went home, locked the doors and seriously didn't even answer our phones for like 3 days. We were exhausted.

For moms, Christmas is always crazy I think. It's expensive madness, but so loved.
My Mom is amazing and gets her shopping done months in advance. She says that she's able to enjoy in more if she knows the gifts are wrapped and ready a good week before the big day. Makes sense to me. I will definitely adopt that philosophy. As our family grows, so will Christmas... and I love Christmas so I plan to do it big.

My Favorite Room

We spend a lot of time in here. I love the way it smells (most of the time.. It's not so cute when the diaper genie's full). I begin every single day with a big smile on my face right in this room, and get one in return from my best little buddy. While winding down during bedtime, we sit quietly and rock. Jake will lay on Big Bart and we whisper and listen to lullabies. Eventually Jake and the baby both fall asleep, and I put everyone to bed.

It could definitely use a little splash of color on the walls, I know... but when we moved into this house about 6 months ago, the paint was new. Maybe this spring we will spice the place up with some color. But can you believe Little Man's wardrobe? My goodness... he's got more duds than his Daddy... and that's cuz Momma has a problem. Guitly, guilty, guilty.
